Online Lesson: Favourite Song- Don't Stop Believing

Lyrics:" Just a small town girl, Livin' in a lonely world
She took the midnight train goin' anywhere
Just a city boy, Born and raised in south Detroit
He took the midnight train goin' anywhere

A singer in a smoky room
A smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on

Don't stop believin'
Hold on to that feelin'
Streetlight people

Don't stop believin'
Hold on
Streetlight people

Don't stop believin'
Hold on to that feelin'
Streetlight people

Strangers waiting
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlight people
Living just to find emotion
Hiding somewhere in the night

Working hard to get my fill
Everybody wants a thrill
Payin' anything to roll the dice just one more time

Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on

Strangers waiting
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlight people
Living just to find emotion
Hiding somewhere in the night

Don't stop believin'
Hold on to that feelin'
Streetlight people

Don't stop believin'
Hold on
Streetlight people

Don't stop believin'
Hold on to that feelin'
Streetlight people

I like this song because it teaches us to never give up. Sometimes, we get depressed, and sometimes we feel like there's no way out, or we're doomed for life. Thus, we might be afraid of being hopeful again, only to be let down. They may think its doing more harm than good to dream of better days, but this song is telling us to 'hold on to that feeling' because life is never short of opportunities to find happiness. I feel that this song teaches us a very good lesson, which is to never give up even at the darkest times.
